My laboratory conducts research on fungal postharvest pathogens of tree fruit (apple, pear, peach) and small fruits (raspberry and strawberry) that are responsible for decay, reduce product quality, and toxin synthesis. Blue mold, grey mold, brown rot, and bitter rot are the disease de jour. Omics'-based technologies are utilized to obtain fundamental information to develop new detection, pathogen mitigation, and decay management strategies.

Pushing back the frontiers of postharvest decay control using cutting edge techniques and an array of approaches that include basic, applied and translational modalities to ensure high quality, nutritious, safe fruit.
