My Background

I grew up in South Florida and got interested in agriculture early on in my life. I spent a significant time hunting and working on a squash and pepper farm where I was fascinated by plant diseases and insect pests etc. I enjoy the scientific process and the thrill of discovery. My scientific contributions have and will continue to make positive impacts to the pome, stone and small fruit industries to reduce decay, maintain fruit quality and safety, and reduce food waste.
